MAR DIONYSIUS III (1817-1825)
Punnathra Geevarghese became Geevarghese Mar Dionysius III. on 19 October 1817 in succession to Pulikkottil Joseph Mar Dionysius II. He maintained friendly relation with the Missionaries who came to Malankara. While serving as the Malankara Metropolitan, he passed away on 16 May 1825, and was laid to rest at the Kottayam St. Mary’s Church (Cheriya Palli).
